State Election Files, 1944-1967

 Series 1

This series contains correspondence, voting statistics, reports, biographical information, candidate endorsements, printed material, and clippings pertaining to election campaigns held throughout the United States and at all levels of government. The materials document the two-year cycle tracing local, state, and federal elections. While clippings and printed material account for the bulk of the series, the correspondence that appears reveals relationships among the national office, regional and state representatives, national unions, and government agencies. Letters from George Roberts, national CIO-PAC field representative, Jack Kroll, CIO-PAC director and Mary Zon, COPE research director appear most frequently.
