Subjects in this series include: apartheid, centennial of AFL, civil rights, community relations, legislation (general, balanced budget amendment, education, minimum wage, right to work laws, social security), Richard Nixon, prices (in Spanish), Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Fund, Solidarity Day (2 in Spanish), Solidarnosc, structural organization of AFL-CIO, unemployment, unions (goals and purposes of), United Nations, voting and voter registration (1 in Spanish), wages.

Some posters and broadsides pre-date the 1955 merger of the AFL and CIO, since they are for organizations that maintained the same relation to AFL-CIO as they had to the AFL or CIO individually. An example of such material are the posters issued by the Iowa State Federation of Labor prior to 1955. Also included are two pre-merger items issued by the AFL and CIO acting as part of a united labor committee.
