Federal Records Created by Murray Vandiver, 1893-1897
This series contains records created by Murray Vandiver in his role as Collector of Internal Revenue for Maryland, the District of Columbia, Delaware, and Virginia's Eastern Shore. The series includes letters to Deputy Collection which are indexed by subject and discuss topics such as gauging, distilleries, cigars, stamps, and taxes. Two additional volumes of letters are indexed by name. Also included are official orders to division and deputy collectors and receipts from the office of the United States Assistant Treasurer. The official orders and receipts are arranged chronologically.
