International Union of Food and Allied Workers Associations, 1949-1978

 Series 4

This series consists of records documenting the bakers union’s activities as a member of the International Union of Food and Allied Workers Associations, an international trade union federation of workers and labor unions in the food and beverage, tobacco, and hospitality industries. The material demonstrates the numerous links the bakers union developed with international, regional, and national labor unions and federations. The records also reveal some of the internal deliberations of the IUF, particularly in the early- and mid-1970s; in 1970, the bakers union president, Daniel Conway, was elected president of the IUF. Record types include correspondence, reports, newsletters, press releases, and bylaws.
