Memorabilia, circa 1960s-1980

 Series

This small series includes two physical items used in the daily operations of the News American: a linen newsboy apron and the sign which once hung on the front of the outside of the Baltimore News American building. The outdoor sign, which takes the form of a stylized eagle with black paint outlines on metal, is typical of other Hearst publication logos and appears similar to the nameplate adopted by the News-Post in 1958. It may be viewed from inside the Maryland Room of Hornbake Library. The items in this series have not been enumerated in the Memorabilia collection.
