Biographical / Historical
Martha Tabor, a member of Pile Drivers Local 2311, on a jobsite for Metro construction in northeast Washington, D.C. She was the first woman to join Local 2311. Tabor worked as a welder, primarily on Metro (Washington Area Transit Authority) sites, as well as on large projects such as sewage treatment plants. Tabor also worked as a photographer for twenty years, concentrating on workplace and social issues.
