This is an oversized French-African John F. Kennedy portrait on mounted cloth, dated 1965. It served as a memorial to the late President, with an inscription of "L'Afrique ne vous oublie pas" and measures 42”x19”.

Processing Information

The object arrived with surface dirt and mold. It was evaluated by Preservation and was sent to a textile conservator for cleaning, unmounting from a wooden frame, and custom housing.

Preservation completed treatment for textile and returned to SCUA on 11/3/2022. Treatment included removing fabric from a wood frame, cleaning, and storing rolled in a tube. Item was sent to a vendor for some parts of the treatment.
