Biographical / Historical
Alice Cary (1920 - ) was born in Turkey in 1920 and moved to the United States at the age of 13. She went to school to become a doctor. She and her husband were in Japan during the Occupation. Cary started out working with missionaries, and then used her medical background to help people after the war. After the Occupation, Cary worked in Japan to work at a family counseling center as the medical advisor and then as director of the clinic.
