Biographical / Historical

Alice Cary (1920 - ) was born in Turkey in 1920 and moved to the United States at the age of 13. She went to school to be a doctor. She and her husband were in Japan during the occupation. Cary started out working with missionaries, and then used her medical background to be a doctor and help people after the war. After the occupation, Cary worked in Japan to work at a family counseling center as the medical advisor and then director of the clinic.
