Biographical / Historical
Beverly Coleman (1899 - 1993) was born and raised in Washington D.C., and then went on to graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland. During the Occupation, Coleman was asked to serve on the military commission, acting as chief of the War Crimes Defense section. After the war crime trials, Coleman returned to the Navy and worked for the Legal Section in Tokyo.
