Biographical / Historical
Daniel Cox Fahey Jr. (1907-1983) was born and raised in Washington D.C. He attended the University of Maryland and earned his bachelor's, and later master's degree, in landscape engineering. He joined the Army a year before Pearl Harbor. After leaving the Army, Fahey worked for the Civil Affairs Division, and later worked with the Strategy and Policy Section in occupied Japan. He formed a relationship with General Douglas MacArthur during the Occupation.
