Biographical / Historical
Eleanor Sullivan served in the Army during the Occupation. She worked in the Post Office and as a sensei, teaching children in school. She was in Japan in 1946, although she may have been in occupied Japan before or beyond that year as well. Sullivan remained in the Army until 1957, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. She did not return to Japan until a visit in 1967.
