Laws, Legislation, and Testimony, 1962-1986 and undated
This series consists of files relating to Suburban Maryland Fair Housing Inc.’s legislative efforts to promote fair housing at the county, state, and federal levels. Specific legislative efforts include topics such as the Montgomery County Human Relations Act; the Montgomery County Fair Housing Ordinance; and efforts to support the provision of Moderately Priced Dwelling Units (MPDU’s) within Montgomery County. Files in this series also include testimony before government agencies regarding policy issues; legislative testimony by SMFH officers; Amicus Curiae (Friend of the Court briefs); and copies of laws and pending legislation.
Summaries of SMFH’s legislative efforts are also included in SMFH annual reports and monthly newsletters in Series 1 and 2.
