Scope and Contents

The mission of the Asian American Student Union is to provide community building, education, and advocacy for the Asian Pacific Islander Desi American community at the University of Maryland. This accession contains photo albums, a scrapbook, newspapers, in addition to other textual items. The original inventory indicated the materials included a banner, however it was not present at the time of accessioning.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

This collection was transferred to the University of Maryland Libraries by Dahye Kang on behalf of the Asian American Student Union on February 15, 2022.

Processing Information

This collection has been minimally processed. Aside from some rough groupings of similar material, the collection came to the Libraries in no particular order. In most cases, materials were grouped by format but have not been arranged chronologically.

The original folders were replaced with acid-free folders and assigned folder titles.
