Biographical / Historical
Justin Williams, Jr. (b. 1929) was born in River Falls, Wisonsin and during the Great Depression. His father, Justin Williams, Sr. was in the Army Air Corps, and he later moved his family to Kelly Air Foce Base in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout his childhood and teenage years, Williams, Jr. was very active with the Boy Scouts, even organizing the Flying Tiger Patrol while in San Antonio. His father was later stationed in Japan following the end of WWII in 1945 as part of U.S. Occupied Forces with his family soon joining him. While in Japan, Williams, Jr. attended the Tokyo American School in Meguro, Japan. After graduation, Williams, Jr. became a sailor and joined the United States Army Transportation Command (1947). Following his return to the U.S. , he attended Wisonsin University where he majored in international affairs and was recruited to the Naval ROTC and marticulated as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War (1950-1953). After recieving his Master's in financial managment at George Washington University, William, Jr. was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, during the Occupation period.
