Street intersection in downtown Tokyo, June 4, 1947
Busy street intersection in downtown Tokyo. Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "One of the principal street intersections in downtown Tokyo, at the southeast corner of the moat. Two Japanese women in kimonos and obis (sashes), an American soldier, and a Japanese man in old army clothing are standing on the curb. Traffic is both American and Japanese. The building across the street to the left is the Air Transport Command terminal... in the city."
