Valley and village of Aha, July 25, 1947
Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Aha valley, one of the larger ones on the east coast of the northern fourth of Okinawa. This is the mouth of Aha Kawa (river) with the village of Aha sitting on the upland to the left, the ripening rice on most of the floodplain, and some dry land crops on the terraced upland slopes. The tide comes up as far as the little bridge across the stream."
