Taro patch with two Palauan children near the hedge, March 14, 1948
Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Taro patch on mucky soils near the village of Ulimang, east coast at south end of Arekalong peninsula, Babelthuap Island. Plants in the various patches are in different stages of growth so that harvesting can be continuous. One patch has recently been tilled for more planting. Palm leaves are placed between rows of new plants. Two Palauan boys are coming through hedge in back."
