President, 1966-1993
The President is the chief executive officer of ARSC, responsible for the guidance and direction of the activities undertaken to achieve the objectives of ARSC during his term of office. The President presides at meetings of the membership and of the Board of Directors and at other required times; prepares a report on the state of the Association for presentation at the annual membership meeting; appoints the committee chairs and serves as ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating Committee; and represents ARSC, or designates an alternate to do so, on all occasions when ARSC representation or participation is appropriate or desirable.
Beginning in 1973, the offices of the President and Vice President were changed. Following the change, in lieu of a Vice President, each President was elected to serve as First Vice-President/President Elect for one year preceding their two-year term as President then followed by a one-year term as Immediate Past President. Consequently, files in this series created after this change may contain documents from any or all of these three roles.
The First Vice-President/President-Elect, or the Immediate Past-President, performs the duties of the President in the absence of the President, and such other duties as the President or the Board of Directors may assign.
This series contains files created by Presidents of ARSC and is arranged by President in order of term of service.
