Black Georgia in the progressive era is an interview with authorJohn Dittmerabout African American history in the early 20th century. Specifically Dittmer discusses how elements of the "progressive era," such as segregation and "scientific racism," among other issues, resulted in an era of regression for African Americans rights and individuals, Dittmer also discusses demonstrations, protests, and movements from the era and calls attention to the need for more African American historians, Spring 1978.
