The Committee on Catalogue, Registration, and Entrance records consist of typed minutes and correspondence relating to meetings from 1930 to 1935, concerning topics of admission of individual students, standards of admission, and the format and preparation of the annual catalogue.
In May 1930, the former Committee on Catalogue, Student Enrollment and Entrance became the Committee on Catalogue, Registration, and Entrance. Like its predecessor groups, this committee of deans and professors focused its attention on issues concerning admission, the school calendar, the status of incoming students, and the format and preparation of the annual catalog. W. B. Kemp, Professor of Genetics and Engineering, chaired the committee, while Alma H. Preinkert, Assistant Registrar, served as secretary.
In the fall of 1935, the committee split into three groups. Dr. Kemp chaired a committee on Curricula, former member Professor H. F. Cotterman led a committee on Entrance, and former member Dean C. O. Appleman headed a committee on Educational Standards.
This collection is organized as one series:
The records of the Committee on Catalogue, Registration, Entrance were transferred to the University of Maryland at College Park Libraries by the Office of Admissions and Registration in 1976.
The records were separated from the record group entitled Committee on Faculty which consisted of the records on the Committee on Catalogue, Student Enrollment and College Entrance, the Committee on Catalogue, Student Enrollment and Entrance, and the Committee on Catalogue, Registration, and Entrance. After the removal of paper clips and staples, the records were placed in acid-free folders and stored in an acid-free box. In 2017, restrictions on this collection were lifted after being closed for a period of 75 years.
