“This is a copy of the famous photograph used as the frontispiece for Happy Days. Mencken has signed it and written 'age 8,' or 'at the age of 8.' This copy was made in 1992 by Jack Sanders from a print that was once in the collection of Betty Adler. The copy is slightly larger than the original, and a little clearer and lighter, with better contrast, because of the care taken with making the copy negative”, 1992
