Scores, 1874-2016, undated, bulk: 1940-1980, undated

Series 11 contains solo, chamber, and large ensemble scores that McGinnis used and created during his playing and conducting career. Scores and parts are holograph, printed, facsimile, and photocopy formats. Sub-Series 1 contains holograph sketches, drafts, and final versions of original compositions and arrangements by Donald McGinnis, many of which remain unpublished. Sub-Series 2 contains musical scores owned by Donald McGinnis composed by other musicians. Ensemble scores include McGinnis's conducting marginalia and sets of performance parts with performance markings. Many band scores are inscribed or include a letter to McGinnis from his teachers, colleagues, and students.
