Discords, October 1981
The October issue of Discords, a tabloid fanzine that focused on the punk and underground music cultures in the Washington, D.C. area and elsewhere. Discords editor Howard Wuelfing was an important early participant in the D.C. underground music scene, both as a musician (Slickee Boys, Nurses, Half Japanese) and as a fanzine creator (Descenes, Discords). This issue of Discords includes an interview with the New Jersey post-punk band The Bongos. It also includes contributions from notable figures like Jim Testa (Jersey Beat fanzine), Linda LeSabre (Grand Mal, Death Ride '69, Beat Mistress), Terry Katzman (colleague of Husker Du), and D.C. music journalist Mark Jenkins.
