Compositions and Arrangements by McGinnis, 1940-2007, undated, bulk: 1940-1980, undated

Series 11, Sub-Series 1 contains sketches, drafts, and final versions of original compositions and arrangements by Donald McGinnis. Scores include holograph notebooks and sketches, a clarinet method, chamber music, concert band works, and orchestral arrangements. Compositions and arrangements in this sub-series are unpublished with the exception of McGinnis's Symphony for Band, his 1953 Ph.D. thesis revised for publication in 1977. An arrangement of note is Carl Maria von Weber's Fantasia and Rondo for clarinet; McGinnis arranged Weber's orchestral accompaniment for band and performed this work as the clarinet soloist. The majority of scores in this sub-series are holograph.
