Metrozine - Issue 8, 1985
The eighth issue of Metrozine, a punk fanzine focused on the music scene in the Washington, D.C. area. This issue celebrates the first anniversary of the fanzine and reprints several interviews from previous issues, as well as includes reviews of concerts and recordings. Interviews in this issue are with D.C. area punk bands like Minor Threat, Government Issue, Void, Marginal Man, and The Faith. Bands from outside of the D.C. area, like Hüsker Dü, Adrenalin O.D., and Stranglehold are featured, as well. The photograph on the back cover was taken by Cynthia Connolly, a notable photographer and artist who went on to co-author the book, "Banned in D.C." with Sharon Cheslow and Leslie Clague. Metrozine editor Scott Crawford went on to write and direct "Salad Days," a documentary on the D.C. punk scene in the 1980s.
