Roundtables and Task Forces, 1984-2015
Roundtables and Task Forces were typically formed outside of committees, but were still in relation to their content. These groups mainly focused on the discussion of decisions and were not the governing bodies that made these decisions.
Note from MLA: Roundtables, email from Diane Parr Walker, 1997 April 1, (242-MLA): "Roundtables are assemblies of members that convene at the Association's annual meetings to exchange ideas on topics of common interest. Roundtables are established or renewed for a term of 4 years upon recipt of 6 letters of support from members of the Association."
