 Record Group

This record group (IV) of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Historical Center contains materials and related collections of NAfME commissions (formerly Music Supervisors' National Conference and Music Educators National Conference) from 1953-1983. These commissions, each their own series within this record group, include the Commission on Music in American Life, the Commission on Teacher Education, the Minority Awareness Commission, and others. More information on each commission and their records are present in each commissions's respective series notes.

The collection is open for research use. The online finding aid is in the process of a major update, with newly reprocessed record groups publishing when they are ready. Materials from this collection must be used in the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library's Irving and Margery Morgan Lowens Special Collections Room during SCPA’s operating hours.
