Professional Papers, 1937-1982
This series contains papers relating to Hindsley's work as a band director. It contains documents and programs from his twenty-two year career at the University of Illinois as well as programs and papers relating to his work as a guest conductor and adjudicator. Especially instructive are the documents relating to his retirement from the University of Illinois in 1970, which give a sense for the band's repertoire during Hindsley's tenure. Guest conducting... and adjudication programs and papers are from his work with high school and college students; they offer a snapshot of band music performance practices and repertoire in both types of institutions. Contents within folders are organized chronologically.
