World Conferences, 1953-1970

This series contains materials related to particular world conferences of ISME. ISME world conferences held between 1953 and 1964 were all considered "Conferences on the Role and Place of Music in the Education of Youth and Adults." The series has been divided into 8 subseries, each corresponding to an individual world conference. Materials include correspondence, agendas, memorabilia, and various literatures pertaining to each conference. Materials are arranged chronologically both by and within subseries. Photographs from conferences can be found in Series 10 and papers from specific conferences can be found in Series 11.2. Materials from the 1953 conference in Brussels not specifically related to ISME are housed in Series 11.1 with UNESCO/IMC materials.
