Isidore "Hotsy" Alperstein, Class of 1943, was an outstanding boxer during his time at Maryland and was inducted into the University of Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. The University of Maryland Chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta was founded in 1932 as the Freshman Women's Honor Society. The chapter became known as the Adele H. Stamp Chapter in 1960.
