The first record of a meeting to discuss the formation of a Prince George's County Public Library System dates from 1945. This collection documents the planning and implementation of establishing the county library system, including correspondence to state legislators, as well as documentation of assistance from the League of Women Voters of Prince George's County. This collection is unprocessed, but an index to the microfilm is available as an external document.
Alice Rabin was an activist in Montgomery County, Maryland, in the 1960s and was involved in the efforts to alleviate poverty and to develop decent housing for low-income residents. She was an active member of the Montgomery County League of Women Voters. The collection consists of materials documenting Rabin's involvement in the League of Women Voters as well as information relating to Suburban Maryland Fair Housing.
