Abstract
University of Maryland (UMD) Professor Emeritus Alcine Joseph Wiltz, III was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 16, 1941. He was a professor of dance at UMD from 1983 to 2008, and he was the chair of the department of dance there from 1983 to 2004. In 1976, he co-founded the Mid America Dance Company (MADCO), now known as the Modern American Dance Company. Abstract
In 1985, the playwright Samuel Beckett had his plays Waiting for Godot, Krapp’s Last Tape, and Endgame performed widely throughout Europe and Asia under the production title "Beckett Directs Beckett."
