The Great Buddha of Kamakura or Kamakura Daibutsu, with Allied troops viewing the statue. The Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "A giant Buddha, Daibutsu, made of cast bronze and iron, second largest in Japan (43 feet tall). The temple in which this was built 700 years ago has long since been destroyed. Kamakura."
