Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Part of the village of Shioya where the cement foundations from the Navy quonset huts remain. The framework and thatch of the house in the foreground were completed yesterday and today, a canvas covering is now being put over the walls and the family will sleep there tonight. Other houses appear beyond this one."
