Agricultural workers planting sweet potato slips on a slope near Yonabaru, Okinawa. Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Tall grasses and cultivated patches, the latter being planted with sweet potato slips, on Regosols from calcareous clays, 15% slopes, a little north and west of G132."

Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Area of Awase clay, Alluvial soil from Regosols, and some limestone float along the coast just north of Yonabaru, Okinawa with people putting out sweet potato slips in the tilled patches after the recent rain. Ships off shore are left from the typhoon of October 1945. This is a duplicate slide; the original was filed unmounted and unnumbered."
