Abstract
George E. Geesey (1933- ) became the first manager of WAMU-FM in Washington, D.C. in 1961. He was the primary host of the Educational Radio Network's coverage of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. He became the Director of Operations (and Engineering) at National Public Radio in 1970.
