Blair, known widely as "Joe Blair," served as the University of Maryland sports information director from 1950 until 1962, as well as the football publicist from 1988 until his death in November 1995. Abstract Alfred "Al" Danegger began taking photographs at the University of Maryland as a freshman in 1942, and after serving as a combat photographer during World War II, he returned to work at the university part-time, graduating in 1950.
