Audio materials, bulk: circa 1943-1967, 1939-1971
This series contains 76 reel-to-reel tapes ( 7" and 3.75 IPS)and 79 discs (12", 78 rpm, two sided). The tapes consist primarily of muscial programming produced by the Voice of America. The bulk of the discs consists of 57 "V" Discs, produced for the Armed Forces Radio Service during World War II. Artists represented include: Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Dick Haymes, Mary Martin, Ginny Simms, Ella Fitzgerald, and Igor Stravinsky with the New York Philharmonic. Other discs are from the U. S. Information Service and the Voice of America, some of which appear to be in Vietnamese.
