WENR station survey , 1929
This series contains materials pertaining to a survey of 18 broadcasting stations conducted by Paul McCluer for The Great Lakes Broadcasting Company and Station WENR in 1929. At the time, the Great Lakes Broadcasting Company was contemplating whether to join with one of the major network outlets in Chicago or to become a fourth network. They decided to authorize a survey of major Eastern and Midwestern stations that were dependent on the three major networks, and to report the stations' reaction to a proposed fourth network. They also asked McCluer to inquire about internal operations, salary scales, union policies, rate structures, local programming services, operating expenses, and profits. McCluer visited 22 principal network affiliates outside Chicago. The collection contains surveys of 17 of the stations. These include:

- WTMJ – Milwaukee, Wis.
