Business Files and Correspondence, 1935-1964

This subseries contains material related to the business aspects of Vox Pop. The correspondence is arranged chronologically and spands the years 1935-1964. It documents the communication between Parks Johnson and various networks, sponsors, and others involved in running the program. Later correspondence pertains to exploratory talks related to creating a Vox Pop television program.

Significant correpondents includes: Jerry Belcher, Wally Butterworth, Warren Hull, Lee Segall, and the National Broadcasting Company (NBC), the Emerson Drug Company, the American Express Company, and the many advertising agencies that handled the Vox Pop account. Also found in this subseries are contracts between vox Pop and American Express, Molle, Standard Barands, and Penn Tobacco. Files on specific Vox Pop broadcasts for the American Express Company in 1948 can also be found as well as an undated Vox Pop movie script, Vox Pop guest appearances on other programs and correspondence from listeners supporting Vox Pop statments.
