Family History, 1823-1956

The bulk of this series consists of genealogical material, including family trees, family histories, and correspondence about reconstructing the family's history. This series also includes several historical documents pertaining to the Bowie family. Among these materials are a letter written during the American Civil War to "Tuck" from W.W.W. Bowie, a letter from the Maryland Adjutant General's Office to Washington Bowie, Esq., and a plantation ledger kept by William Bowie detailing the management of a family estate. This series is arranged alphabetically by document type. Documents are arranged chronologically within folders when possible.
