Clemens Lamping, 1888-1902

 Series — Box: 1, Folder: 3 3

Series 3 contains materials relating to Clemens Lamping, his wife Helen Starr Lamping, and their eldest child, William Lamping, Jr. The largest section of this series relates to the death of Clemens's son, William. Included is a certificate insuring that William died intestate (without a will), several receipts from the Register of Wills, and accounts relating to William's financials. Another large portion of this series pertains to Clemens Lamping's professional and financial status. Topics include the selling of stocks, membership to the Maryland Historical Society, tax receipts, and envelopes that accompanied Clemens's life insurance policy; these envelopes contain the amount paid and the name of the insurer. There is also a letter to Helen Starr Lamping about Clemens' life insurance policy probably after his death. Other items include information regarding the family plot of Helen Starr Lamping at Green Mount Cemetery; a letter from Helen's stepfather on this topic is located in Series 2. Finally, there is a record certifying that Helen's grandfather, William Starr, served in the First Regiment Artillery of the Maryland Militia in the War of 1812. The arrangement of the series materials is chronological.
