Scope and Contents Siegfried Lorraine Sassoon (1886-1967) was a British poet and prose writer. His best known works include some one hundred poems that expose the horror of the trenches and protest the continuation of World War I. After the war, Sassoon also produced a series of autobiographical works. Scope and Contents

Both items are short essays composed by Lady Ottoline. "Garsington" is a typewritten description of her feelings and hopes for her new country home. The second item is a printed copy of a February 1, 1936, diary entry. Entitled a "Farewell Message" it was reprinted, along with a 1903 photograph of Morrell, by her husband on the occasion of her death in 1938. These items are arranged chronologically.
