His seminar on 19th-century thermodynamics, which SGB took in his junior year at Harvard, introduced SGB to the pleasures of research in history of science; SGB's seminar paper on the history of kinetic theory later developed into an 800-page book (The Kind of Motion We Call Heat, 1976). SGB encountered him again when SGB went to Livermore in 1959 and he was at Berkeley.] -- NOTE: Letters on SGB's article "The Wave Theory of Heat"; discrepancies btw different editions of TK's Copernican Revolution; Boltzmann; SGB paper "Randomness and Irreversibility"; SGB paper "Mach and Atomism"; SGB appointment at UMCP; SGB emails on Kuhn's death, 1996 to Washington Post staff on inadequacy of obituary., 1966-1996
