Compositions, Arrangements, and Methods by Others, 1874-2016, undated, bulk: 1940-1980
Series 11, Sub-Series 2 contains Donald McGinnis's musical scores composed by other musicians. Scores include instrumental methods, chamber music, concert band works, and orchestral compositions. Most ensemble scores include McGinnis's conducting marginalia and complete performance sets of parts include performance markings. Many band scores are inscribed to McGinnis from his teachers, colleagues, and students, including Carmen Dragon, Frederick C. Mayer, Himie Voxman, George Waln, Richard "Dick" Lawson, and Frank M. Hudson, enclose correspondence related to the gift or dedication of the piece. Scores in this sub-series also include pieces written for the OSU Concert Band and dedicated to McGinnis. The bulk of scores are printed or facsimile.
