Scope and Contents Series 3 reflects both Meany's general and specific interests as secretary-treasurer of the AFL. It consists of correspondence, reports, and printed matter pertaining to several AFL committees. Affiliated and unaffiliated labor organizations, as well as general subjects are represented. Scope and Contents The Information Department transferred these images to the Archives in 1982 and 1996. Department staff acquired the images from various press sources (e.g., Merkle, Ransdell, Acme, World Wide, UPI, etc.) and from independent photographers. The bulk of the images are from 1945 to mid-1970s; oversized images are primarily from 1900 to 1960; panoramic group images (primarily of conventions and dinners) are from 1910 to 1940.
