Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Palauan house, indigenous architecture but with boards instead of wickerwork walls. This does have the roof thatched with pandanus, the old house style and the old-style stone courtyard under which the family dead were once buried. This is in the village of Ngebuked."

Description provided by photographer Roy Simonson reads: "Young Palauan man standing in an outrigger canoe at the upper end of tidewater in the mainstream below Ngebuked, a village along the narrow part of Babelthuap Island north of Ngardmau. Six people were to travel in the canoe."
