Constituent Services, 1973-1974

 Sub-Series

This subseries contains constituent correspondence from people living in Maryland and those living out-of-state voicing their opinions on the House Judiciary Committee investigations and hearings, the impeachment proceedings, President Nixon, and Hogan’s decisions to vote yes for impeachment. Some people supported President Nixon and were displeased with Hogan’s stance on impeachment, while others supported the Judiciary Committee’s impeachment investigations and Hogan’s views. The anti-Hogan and anti-impeachment people sent expressive letters voicing their disagreement with Hogan, calling him a “turncoat” and “Judas.” Some letters contain literal rocks with notes quoting the Bible verse John 8:7, “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.”
