Audiovisual Materials, 1966-2003
This series contains both audio and video recordings. Audio recordings of Miss Porter were made by Paul Porter and David Locher. The bulk of these document phone conversations between Miss Porter and her nephew. The subjects of other audio recordings include readings of the work of Katherine Anne Porter and Eudora Welty, the initial meeting of the Katherine Anne Porter Foundation in 1966, a 2003 program on Katherine Anne Porter at the University of Maryland Libraries, and music (John Renbourn's Ship of Fools). The video recordings include dramatizations of "The Jilting of Granny Weatherall," "Noon Wine," and "The Fig Tree." There are also recordings of programs presented at from the Katherine Anne Porter at One Hundred conference held at the University of Maryland in 1991. The series also includes copies of a PBS documentary about the 1918 influenza epidemic, which includes discussion of Katherine Anne Porter. The recordings are arranged into two groupings: audio and video. Within each, the recordings are arranged chronologically.
