Edwin C. Fowler, 1861
This series contains correspondence written by Edwin C. Fowler, possibly a Baltimore bookkeeper, to his uncle, C.H. West of Harford County, Maryland. Letters discuss war sentiment and support of the Union and Confederacy shortly after the attack on Fort Sumter and the capture of the Winans Steam Gun near Ellicott Mills (modern-day Ellicott City).
